Enhanced security performance for door set assemblies.
The BSI is the UK’s National Standards Body (NSB) and it provides organisations with standards and best practice solutions. The BSI is internationally recognised for its independence, integrity and innovation in the production of standards that promote best practice. This helps to improve industry operations whilst protecting business and society in the UK and worldwide.
With reference to the window and door security sector, there are a number of standards which should be observed and the BSI has recently amended and upgraded BS EN1303, relating to profile cylinders to include resistance to “bumping” under the classification of “General Vulnerability”. To communicate this status a Kitemark scheme has been developed. Only products which meet the BSI’s strict standards and pass the various test requirements are awarded with the Kitemark logo.
